Japan has always been high on my travel bucket list, and with the recent drop in yen prices, it has become an even more enticing destination. I embarked on a two-week adventure through this enchanting country, focusing on the vibrant cities of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. But Japan is more than just its main cities; destinations like Sapporo, Okinawa, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki also offer unique experiences. This blog will guide you through my Japanese journey and provide tips for making the most of your visit to this fascinating country
How to Reach Japan
Tokyo, one of the busiest cities in the world, is served by two major airports: Narita and Haneda. Both are approximately 70-80 km from the city center and can be accessed via trains and buses. Flights to Tokyo are generally more affordable, and there are numerous deals available on websites like Skyscanner and Trivago.
I landed at Narita Airport and opted for a budget-friendly bus to Tokyo Station, costing around 1,300 yen and taking 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take the metro, which is slightly more expensive but faster. Tickets for both buses and metro rail can be purchased at the airport.

Is It Safe to Travel Japan Solo?
Japan is a very safe country for solo travelers. The people are friendly and helpful, and most cities remain active well into the night. During my trip, I felt secure and encountered no issues. However, it’s always wise to be aware of your surroundings and avoid shady areas. Tourist scams, such as overcharging, can occur, so it’s best to seek advice from locals before visiting unfamiliar places.
